Splits a large file into pieces and puts them back together. Nothing is compressed, so the rejoined file is byte-for-byte the original, and files never leave your browser.
How to use it
- In Split, add the file and pick the piece size
- Send the pieces one by one
- On the other side, switch to Join and add every piece
- Download the joined file and check the checksum matches
Common questions
- Why split instead of using cloud storage?
- Company material and contracts often cannot go to the cloud at all. Split them and you can simply send several messages or emails. This tool never uploads the file anywhere.
- Is the joined file really identical?
- It is. Nothing is compressed or converted — the bytes are cut and put back as they were. A checksum is shown when splitting and again when joining, so matching values mean it is identical.
- What if the pieces arrive out of order, or one is missing?
- Each piece carries its number and the total in its name, so the order sorts itself out. If one is missing it tells you which before joining — join without knowing and you get a file that will not open.
- Does the other person need this tool too?
- Yes, they use the join side of this page. Nothing has to be installed.
