Fade audio in and out to kill the click at the start and end of a clip you cut. It measures where and how sharp the discontinuity is first, then applies only as much fade as that needs.

How to use it

  1. Choose an audio file
  2. See where the abrupt edges are
  3. Hit "Just enough to fix the click"
  4. Apply the fade and download

Common questions

Why is there a click?
When a cut lands where the waveform is not at zero, the sound ends abruptly and the speaker turns that jump into a click. Easing the start and end down for a moment removes it.
Why not just use a long fade?
A three-second fade on a short clip smears it. This tool measures the amplitude at the edges and takes only as much as is needed.
Does the whole thing get quieter?
Only the edges are touched. The middle is untouched.
Do video files work?
The audio is extracted from the video and processed. The result comes out as an audio file.
Where does the audio get uploaded?
Nowhere. It is handled inside your browser only.
