Shifts subtitle timings when they run ahead of or behind the video. Drift that widens as it goes is stretched by ratio, and it converts between SRT and VTT.

How to use it

  1. Drop a subtitle file, or paste it in
  2. Set how much to shift
  3. Check the first and last cue times
  4. Download the file

Common questions

The subtitles drift further out the longer it runs.
Shifting will not fix that. It comes from the video and the subtitles having different frame rates, so the times have to be stretched by a ratio. Look for entries like 23.976 ↔ 25 under “drifting further apart”.
My web player shows no subtitles.
Standard web players only take VTT. Hit “to VTT” to convert and download — the header and the time notation change together.
How do I know the shift was right?
The first and last cue times are shown side by side, before and after. Compare them with when those lines are spoken in the video.
What if I shift too far back?
Any cue that would land before 0 is pinned at 0, and you are told how many did.
Where do the subtitles get uploaded?
Nowhere. They are handled inside your browser only.
