Common questions
- Why does it tell me what is inside?
- A QR cannot be checked by eye. Scanning and opening it blindly is the same as clicking a link without reading the address. So a web address shows where it goes and a WiFi code shows which network, before anything else.
- Where does the image get uploaded?
- Nowhere. QR codes often carry invite links, WiFi passwords or account numbers, so uploading one to an unfamiliar site to read it is a bad trade.
- Can I use the camera?
- Yes. For a QR in front of you, read it with the camera. You have to allow camera access once.
- Sometimes it cannot read the code.
- A cropped or blurred code will not read. For a screenshot, crop again so the whole QR is inside.
