Common questions
- What happens to the remainder when the split is not exact?
- Someone is assigned to pay the extra so the total matches exactly. Nothing is dropped or rounded into a mismatch.
- Why are there so few transfers?
- A→B and B→C can become a single A→C. Large debts are matched against large credits first, which keeps the number of transfers minimal.
- Are there floating-point rounding errors?
- No. Everything is counted in whole won — floating point cannot hold 0.1 exactly, so it is not used here.
