Is the share based on revenue or store count?

Neither — it is based on **area**. For each point on the map we find the nearest store and count which brand it belongs to, then report the share of ground covered. A brand with few but widely spread stores can still hold a large area.

Why does the number change when I move the map?

“Who owns this ground” counts only what is currently on screen. Panning or zooming changes the sample, so the number changes with it. For a fixed answer, switch to “By district” — precomputed over 17 provinces and 250 districts.

How current is the store data?

Store locations come from OpenStreetMap, downloaded ahead of time. It is not live — it is refreshed quarterly, and stores missing from OpenStreetMap are not included. District boundaries follow Statistics Korea (2018).

Is my location or activity sent anywhere?

Nothing is sent. The store data is downloaded once, and all calculation and drawing happen inside your browser. Only the map tiles are fetched from OpenStreetMap.
