Adds page numbers to a PDF. You can skip a few cover pages and start counting 1 at the first body page, so it works as-is for submissions and print.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF
- Pick the style and position
- Set how many cover pages to skip
- Add the numbers
Common questions
- Can I keep the number off the cover?
- Yes. Set how many leading pages to skip and no number goes on them. With “do not count skipped pages” on, the first page of the body becomes page 1.
- Can I write it as “page 3” in my own script?
- Yes. The number is drawn as an image of the text, so non-Latin scripts do not break. The built-in PDF fonts cannot hold them, which is why they usually do.
- Can the paper sizes be mixed?
- Yes. The margin is measured against each page’s size, so a mix of A4 and Letter does not make the number jump around.
- What happens to numbers that were already there?
- They are not removed; the new one goes on top. If the document already has numbers, place yours somewhere else.
- Where does the file get uploaded?
- Nowhere. It is handled inside your browser only.
