Removes solid or near-solid backgrounds. It only eats colour that is connected to the edge, so a shirt the same colour as the background is not punched through.
How to use it
- Upload a photo whose background is solid, or close to it
- The background colour is picked from the four corners — click to set it yourself if that is wrong
- Adjust tolerance (how different still counts as background) and edge feather
- Download as a transparent PNG
Common questions
- Does it recognise people and cut them out?
- No. That needs a trained model and a 40MB download — this site does not do that. It removes solid and near-solid backgrounds only.
- What if my shirt is the same colour as the background?
- It stays. The tool does not erase every pixel of that colour, only the region connected to the edge.
- The background colour bleeds into the hair.
- Turn on despill to strip the colour the background left behind, and raise the edge feather as well.
